Housing Association Reward Survey 2024: Wellbeing

Our second summary of the findings from our recent Housing Association Reward Survey, highlights wellbeing initiatives.

We asked about the wellbeing initiatives that have been implemented over the past year and what is being planned for 2024. Here’s a summary of the thoughts of senior HR professionals across the UK's housing associations.

While financial initiatives came more into focus in response to COVID, health initiatives still are more commonly provided in the sector.

Most organisations now provide an Employee Assistance Programme for their staff as standard. Mental Health First Aiders and health and wellbeing strategies apps have become established in the last two years, with menopause policies become more prevalent over the past year.

Perhaps a different question to ask is how organisations can make themselves stand out? This might be answered by looking at what can be done to minimise the root causes of some of the issues that these initiatives seek to address (such as issues with management culture, resourcing, job design, etc.)?
