We are probably the longest-serving husband and wife team in reward - and we're still talking! 

Karl Ellis

Karl is Director and our Lead Consultant.

He is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, with nearly 30 years in HR. He has extensive reward experience across the public and private sectors, providing practical advice to help clients to establish and maintain effective reward strategies. 

He enjoys working with clients to create unique reward solutions that will work for them, but is equally at home developing spreadsheets and models to bring these to life.

Before launching EBRS in 2010, Karl led on pay and reward in the HR consulting arm of Smith & Williamson. Karl has also worked for Lloyds Banking Group, first as an HR Business Partner specialising in policies and projects, then coordinating C&G's annual salary review. ​

If he’s not in the office, Karl is likely to be on a golf course, rummaging in a record shop, on a long walk or enjoying live music somewhere!

Alison Ellis

Alison is Director and our Reward Specialist.

She has been working at EBRS since 2012 and is an expert in our job evaluation system and salary databases.

As well as doing the technical stuff like assessing and benchmarking roles, she really enjoys getting to know our clients and contacts.

She also runs our employee pay surveys and helps facilitate focus groups on site with our clients.

With a Postgraduate Diploma in European Business Administration and a wealth of experience in a variety of financial services organisations, she understands how employees feel about the way reward systems impact on them.

When Alison’s away from her desk, she’ll be spending time with family and friends, watching live music, or dancing the latest Zumba routines!
